The difference between the top three sides were minimal with Atletico Madrid winning 73% of all their games while Barcelona and Real Madrid won 71%, highlighting just how close the title race was. And while all three teams did relatively well at home, Atletico’s away record speaks a lot, having won 68% of all their away games with Barcelona and Real Madrid winning 57%.

Outside the now supposed big three, Athletic Bilbao had the next best win percentage, having won 52% of all their games this season while winning 68% of their home games at their new stadium. At the bottom of the table, Real Betis - who finished in the Europa League spots last year - underachieved winning only 15% of their games this season with an astonishingly poor 5% home win record.

When it comes to goals, Real Madrid were the team to watch. In 77% of their games this season, there have been over 2.5 goals which is natural considering Carlo Ancelotti’s side scored 104 league goals this season. Barcelona are behind on 69% however, featured more than 2.5 goals at the Nou Camp with 90%.

As for timings of goals, it’s interesting to see that Real Madrid scored 27 of their goals from the 76th to 90th minute while Barcelona scored 22 goals in the 31st to 45 minute range, only scoring 9 goals from the 46th minute to the 60th minute.

Lastly, when it comes to scorelines, like the Premier League, 1-0 was the most common occurence with 41 games ending with the single goal. 22 games ended in 2-2 draws while interestingly, there were 3 games which ended in a 7-0 win and 3 games which ended in a 4-3 win.
