Arsenal have lost their top position in the EPL and is currently third, behind Chelsea and Liverpool. They were outplayed by Bayern in the home leg at the Emirates. They will keep themselves positive by thinking about their last season’s 3-2 win over Bayern in Munich. They will draw inspiration from the fact that Manchester City defeated Bayern 3-2 in the Allianz Arena earlier in a first round match of the Champions League.
Jack Wilshere is the latest injury-hit player in the Arsenal camp. The Gunners were already without Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott. Mesut Özil has found form in the last week’s FA Cup match against Everton. With fellow Germans Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker, he seems to be the best bet for Arsenal to counter Bayern Munich. Olivier Giroud too is in great form. Their backline, which has a penchant for forming fancy off-side traps, is vulnerable against the Bayern onslaught.
The Munich side has no injury worries. That is, they will field their World Eleven, comprising Mario Mandzukic, Thomas Müller, Arjen Robben, Franck Ribéry, Mario Götze and Philipp Lahm.
