Arsenal dropped on the 3rd position in the English Premier League, but that can change this Monday, as the North London side has one game less. Only a win in the next match could bring them back to the top position. However, that is going to be extremely hard as their opponents are Chelsea.

December hasn’t been the best moth in Arsene Wenger’s career. His team won only one time this month with two losses and one draw. Arsenal lost to Napoli 2-0 in the Champions League, but that defeat wasn’t important because they got to the next round anyway. Everyone thought Arsenal would come right back in form after that loss, but then the game versus Manchester City came. In that match Arsenal lost 6-3, but that wasn’t the worst thing. Their promising midfielder showed the middle finger to the crowd, which earned him suspension and he won’t be playing in this match.

The visitors don’t have any important absentees except Branislav Ivanovic, who has yellow card suspension. Chelsea are eager to go in a title challenge. With a win against Arsenal, they would get up to second spot in the league, but more importantly will be lowering Arsenal’s chances. Their recent run in the Premier league is pretty good, except for that surprising 3-2 loss to Stoke, two rounds before.

I expect an interesting game this Monday, with lots of chances on both sides. A draw looks like the most plausible outcome.
