It's been a real tale of rags to riches this season for Leicester City. From rank outsiders to Premier League Champions in the space of a tumultuous campaign where they defied expectations to keep their big name rivals at bay and comfortably win the title.
Claudio Ranieri's team's assault was spearheaded by this year's revelation - striker Jamie Vardy - for whom a regular first team place in the Euro 2016 finals is surely now assured. His 24 goals left him just one short of the haul of this year's Golden Boot winner - Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane.
Spurs, to their credit, proved to be spirited challengers, keeping the title race open almost to the end, but Leicester dominated in quite comprehensive fashion, upsetting the record books and drawing praise from far and wide for their battle against the odds. The Premier League trophy is now in the hands of the Foxes, who will be seeking to build on their success in Europe next year.
Leicester will have a fight on their hands to retain the services of some of their rising stars - who are now attracting interest from Europes's bigger clubs - but Ranieri has begged the team to give him one more season to prove that this success is more than just a flash in the pan. And after their 5000/1 title run, who would be brave enough to bet against that?
