Liverpool are looking to end this year victoriously with a win against Cardiff City. Three points from this game could take the Reds to the top of the Premier League table, but for that they need Arsenal to fail against Chelsea (which is more than possible).

It looks like the unexpected loss against Hull City four rounds ago, made Liverpool realize they need to keep focused in every match. Since then, the Merseyside Reds won convincingly all three Premiership games. That includes the impressive win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Liverpool won that game 5-0, even playing without their captain Steven Gerard and their second-best striker Daniel Sturridge. The situation regarding injuries as same as in the previous week, but this round’s opponent is a much weaker team. That means Liverpool will go all in for the victory in this clash.

Last season Cardiff played in the Championship but managed to get promoted to the English top league. The Welsh side now has an objective to stay in the Premier League. However, that task isn’t as easy as they might have thought as there are lots of teams with similar quality. They are currently three places above the relegation zone and no matter how the game with Liverpool ends they will end the year in the safe zone. Cardiff have 17 points which is 4 points away from the relegation group. Being safe doesn’t mean they won’t care about this game, but I think the Cardiff players know what their limits are.
