Manchester City will be hoping to put their Champions League heartbreak behind them when they host Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Manual Pelegrini’s side have been in great form in the Premier League, before midweek’s defeat to Barcelona. The 2-0 loss was blamed on a straight red card for Argentine Martin Demichelis for a professional foul on countryman Lionel Messi and City badly need a response to put their season back on track.

City forward Sergio Aguero missed the Barcelona defeat due to a hamstring injury and also looks set to miss the clash with the Potters.

France star Samir Nasri is expected to make a return to the starting line-up after recovering from a troublesome knee injury that has limited his chances this season.

Meanwhile, Stoke will be without Moroccan Oussama Assaidi who suffered knee ligament damage during a recent training trip to Dubai. However, both Mathew Etherington and Andy Wilkinson are set to feature for Mark Hughes’s side after long injury layoffs.
