PSG-Chelsea betting preview
Chelsea have a temporary distraction from their frustrating Premier League campaign on this Wednesday when it visits Paris for a Champions League quarterfinal match against Paris Saint-Germain. PSG has a 13-point lead at the top of the French Ligue One table. They need to win just three of their remaining seven matches to win the title. But to win the UEFA Champions League title, first they have to score a thumping win against Chelsea in this match.
Chelsea have not had a good fortnight or so. They have lost two of their last three Premier League fixtures. But what sets Chelsea apart is their ability to bounce back from setbacks. They have been a mentally strong team. They require every bit of their resilience to gain advantage against the high-flying Parisian side.
PSG have not lost a match in 2014 in any competition. But their H2H record against Chelsea suggests that they have not beaten the Blues yet. Of the three matches between these teams, two were draws. And Chelsea won the other one.
The match will pit Zlatan Ibrahimovic against one of the best defenses in Europe. Chelsea’s defense has been the best in the UK by some margin. John Terry, Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic have been dependable and hardworking. It is their attack that would be worrying the fans.
They have been saved in far too many expectations by their industrious midfield trio of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Andre Schürrle. Samuel Eto'o, the only Chelsea striker who seems capable of finding the net, is injured.
