Sevilla-Porto betting preview

Sevilla-Porto betting preview

Sevilla will be kicking themselves for not having scored an away goal in the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinal at Porto. The home team was way below their best, and even had a defender sent off in the dying minutes. However, Sevilla could not find a goal that would have mattered, and lost the match 1-0. Now, in the second leg at home they need a clear win, at least by a two-goal margin, to ensure a semi-final berth.

A two-goal lead is not beyond their reach. Both the teams are famous for their attacking styles and formations, even though none of these were evident in the first leg. Porto can sit back and look for counter-attacking opportunities. But they usually adopt a more direct attacking strategy.

The team has a stellar record in the continental championships. They will look forward to enhance it further. They have not lost a Europa League match in this season.

Sevilla has made Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan a kind of home fortress. Only Barcelona and city rivals Real Betis managed to win here in recent times. All the other teams have bitten dust.

The Spanish side does not have any injury scares. Their strikers Carlos Bacca, Ivan Rakitic and Kevin Gameiro usually relish the comforts of home.

Porto’s charge will be spearheaded by Jackson Martínez and Silvestre Varela. Eliaquim Mangala, who scored that all-important goal in the first leg, will test his good luck charm too.

Sevilla-Porto Prediction

Sevilla has a terrific record at home that will warrant a favourable bet. They may win the match, but Porto is more likely to go to the semi finals.
