That win offers an exciting backdrop for this match. It was United’s third loss in the season – the one that confirmed all was not well with the United camp. The first two losses were against Liverpool and Manchester City. The team has not recovered from the poor start, as it is languishing at an unfamiliar seventh position now.
For all their tenacity and giant-killing, West Brom too are facing a tough time. They are just a single point away from the relegation zone. Their fans hope that the sight of a big club would spur them on. The H2H statistics do not offer them much hope, as United leads 47-33. West Brom’s earlier win of the season was their first in three decades.
