Roma-Udinese betting preview
Roma must win at home against Udinese – that is the common logic. They are title chasers, possess an explosive attack, and need to win at least to keep the statistical probability of catching up with the league leaders Juventus. The problem is in their recent record.
Roma have failed to score in the last three games: two goal-less draws and one 1-0 defeat. In fact, they have managed just four goals in their last six outings. Udinese don't possess a great defence. Can they break the strikers block with a flurry of goals against the visitors?
Roma’s title chances are slim. If they win this one, they can reduce the deficit to 11 points. With just 11 games remaining in the season, for them to cut the deficit not only they have to maintain top consistency, but Juventus has to fail spectacularly too. They will be more concerned with keeping the second position. Napoli is closing in, just three points behind now.
Udinese haven't shown any great form in the season. But they are enjoying their best phase of the season: three wins, two draws and one defeat in the last six matches. Still, they may not pose any threat to Roma on their own, unless Roma’s goal constipation continues.
Roma's talisman Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi are likely to be back in the team after suspension. Kevin Strootman is a doubtful starter. They badly need either Gervinho or Mattia Destro to find their scoring touch.
If Roma fails to score, Udinese will look forward to Antonio Di Natale for providing the clinching goal, preferably in the second half.
