What Is a Canadian Bet?

A Canadian bet — also known as a Super Yankee — takes 5 selections and turns them into 26 separate bets: 10 doubles (every pairing), 10 trebles (every group of 3), 5 fourfolds (every group of 4), and 1 fivefold (all 5 together). There are no singles, so at least 2 of your 5 selections need to win before you see any return.

Bet Type Selections Bet Lines
Yankee 4 11
Canadian (Super Yankee) 5 26
Lucky 31 5 31

A Canadian is the 5-selection equivalent of a Yankee — no singles, 2 winners minimum. A Lucky 31 uses the same 5 selections but adds 5 singles for full cover. See our full bet calculator for every bet type.

How Does the Canadian Bet Calculator Work?

The calculator builds all 26 bet lines from your 5 selections and totals the stake and return across them:

  • 10 Doubles — every pair of your 5 selections
  • 10 Trebles — every group of 3 selections
  • 5 Fourfolds — every group of 4 selections
  • 1 Fivefold — all 5 selections combined
  • Total Stake = Unit Stake × 26

Enter your 5 sets of odds — fractional or decimal — and your unit stake, and the calculator works out every combination for you.

Total Stake by Unit Stake

Unit Stake Total Stake (26 lines)
10p £2.60
50p £13
£1 £26

Each Way Canadian Bet Calculator

An each way Canadian doubles the total stake, since it runs a win Canadian and a place Canadian side by side — 52 bet lines in total. Tick the E/W box and enter your each way terms — the calculator works out both parts separately, then shows the combined return.

Example Calculation

5 selections at evens (2.00), 6/4 (2.50), 2/1 (3.00), 5/2 (3.50) and 3/1 (4.00), £1 unit stake (£26 total):

  • 10 doubles combined: £88.75
  • 10 trebles combined: £258.75
  • 5 fourfolds combined: £371.50
  • 1 fivefold: 2.00 × 2.50 × 3.00 × 3.50 × 4.00 = £210
  • Return if all 5 win: £929 (£903 profit on £26 staked)

FAQs

Is a Canadian bet calculator free to use?

Yes. Every calculator on this site, including the Canadian bet calculator, is completely free — no account or sign-up needed.

Is a Canadian bet the same as a Super Yankee?

Yes. "Canadian" and "Super Yankee" are two names for the exact same bet — 5 selections, 26 bet lines, no singles.

How many winners do I need for a Canadian to pay out?

At least 2 of your 5 selections. With exactly 2 winners, you get a return from the one matching double.

What's the difference between a Canadian and a Lucky 31?

Both use 5 selections. A Canadian is 26 bet lines (no singles) and needs 2 winners minimum. A Lucky 31 is 31 bet lines (adds 5 singles), so even 1 winner returns something — at a higher total stake. Use our Lucky 31 calculator to compare the two.
